The car is very original and rides down the road, just like it did in 1969. It has had a complete restoration and with the black interior and black convertible top it looks stunning.
Mechanical
This GTO Convertible is loaded with options such as the Enduro Bumper, Power steering, Power disc brakes, body color painted Pontiac Rally wheels on BF Goodrich raised white letter Radial TA tires and more.
The engine is a YZ 400 cubic inch Ram Air block which was rated at 366 horsepower from the factory. It shows coming with the YS engine per the PHS Documentation so it has been changed somewhere else in its history.
It looks factory stock with all the correct parts like the remote cable operated Ram Air cleaner assembly, factory intake, the Ram Air smooth flowing exhaust manifolds, correct factory Quadrajet carb, chrome factory Pontiac valve covers, power steering and power brakes, added vacuum canister system, and all the correct wiring and hoses.
The engine sits in the complete and detailed engine compartment and this beast sounds as good as it looks, and runs even better. When is the last time you have seen a Ram Air YZ engine GTO for sale?
Interior
Our GTO has a complete restored and replaced dual black bucket seat interior with matching black carpets, Judge floor mats and glove box emblem, black door panels, and trim. The black convertible top works well and overall this is like a brand new GTO again.
It has the great GTO dash with its wood grain inserts housing all the correct factory gauges in lauding the tachometer, full wood grain floor console with the automatic shifter, factory wood Pontiac steering wheel, Ram Air hood control, and an aftermarket stereo system and speakers.
Exterior
General Motors redesigned its A-body lines or these series of GTO’s with more curvaceous, semi-fastback styling.
Pontiac abandoned the familiar vertically stacked headlights in favor of a horizontal layout, but made hidden headlights available at extra cost which ours has.
The concealed headlights were a popular option. The signature hood scoop was replaced by dual scoops on either side of a prominent hood bulge extending rearward from the protruding nose.
A unique feature on our GTO was the body-color Endura front bumper. It was designed to absorb impact without permanent deformation at low speeds. Pontiac touted this feature heavily in advertising, showing hammering at the bumper to no discernible effect.
Concealed windshield wipers, which presented a cleaner appearance hidden below the rear edge of the hood, were standard on this GTO and it all looks great with its restoration and repaint in blue with the added on Judge spoiler on the trunk, Judge stripes on each side, and the Judge emblems along with the Ram Air decals on the hood scoops.
